Abstract

Proximal humerus fracture and acromioclavicular (AC) joint injuries are common injuries of upper extremity. Preoperative imaging interpretation is important for accurate diagnosis. As our knowledge, this case reports for the first time a simultaneous proximal humerus fracture and AC joint dislocation diagnosed prior surgery. This case report describes a 53-year-old male with combined injury of left acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocation and proximal humerus fracture following a car accident. The patient underwent open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of both injuries. This case highlights the importance of thorough clinical examination and imaging in patients with high-energy trauma to identify concomitant injuries. Early surgical intervention is often necessary for optimal outcomes. This case highlights the importance of recognizing complex upper extremity injuries after trauma and the need for prompt surgical intervention.
